Brogan Edward O'Connor

Brogan Edward O'Connor was born on 8/25/08 at 11:42PM after 26 hours of labor! He was 8lbs 15.5oz and 22.25 inches long. He came out with a full head of red hair!

My Birthday

This year was probably the tamest B-day I've had in about 14 years but I'm sure it will be one of the most memorable. The girls at my baby shower had a special B-day celebration for me and my fabulous parents celebrated with me on the actual day (August 1st.) April was hoping Baby O would be born on the same day...but no such luck.

Baby Shower!

My fabulous friends came in from all over to support and celebrate Baby O. It meant so much to me to have them here and I really appreciate the extreme effort it took for some of them to make it all the way to Indianapolis. I'm so fortunate to have them in my life (as is Baby O!) We all had a great weekend. I was so sad to see them go home:(

We even played some party games (good work Val!) Each person decorated onesies for Baby O which were hilarious. We also guessed my belly size...which was comparible to Violet in Willy Wonk when she turned into a blueberry (plus my dress didn't help.)

Jen and SJ were the official party planners with Stephanie and Val pitching in (plus my Mom!) It was fun just hanging out...everyone should move to Indy for a little while!

The Baby Showers!

Here is my 'Family' Baby Shower. This was hosted by my parents (Ed and Nancy) and my siblings (Tim and April.) I was overwhelmed at how many people were able to attend and their extreme generosity. It was a great experience and certainly made me feel very supported!

Bernie Washington-The Wonder Dog

I've had Bernie since he was 6 wks old...he is now 5yrs old! He's from Indiana, like me, but flew out to CA with my sister when he was just a puppy (sleeping on the tray table.) He's lived w/ me in San Francisco, Hermosa Beach, Chicago and now Indianapolis. He's driven cross country with me, learned to swim in Malibu and even vacationed in Breckenridge, CO! He is the best dog ever...maybe a little hyperactive but whatever. Who doesn't get a little excited once in a while?

This year proved to be pretty overwhelming. I was tired, scared and in desperate need to take a break from my constantly reeling mind that was trying to figure out how I can handle everything. So, Jen and I took a holiday! We went to Hilton Head Island for a week. It was certainly not our typical vacation but it was much needed. Thank you Jen! It also was the first time I really couldn't conceal my growing stomach...maternity swim suits= ridiculous.

This is Baby O at 32 weeks. I was on my second to last work trip and the picture was taken in Oakland, CA. Little does Baby O know that he has already been back and forth between the West Coast and Chicago several times and has even made a few trips to the Dirty South (well, not really dirty but coastal NC, SC and GA.)
